|The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) is the top organization representing Brazilian industries. Founded in 1938, it coordinates a system made up of affiliated Federations of Industry in 26 states abd the Federal District, encompassing over 1.000 employers¿ unions. These institutions also comprise the Industry System, the National Industrial Learning Service (SENAI), the Industrial Social Service (SESI), and the Euvaldo Lodi Institute (IEL).
In addition to its actions in the areas of economic and industrial policies, labor relations, legislative actions, quality assurance, productivity, technology, environment, and infrastructure, the CNI also represents the interests of Brazilian industries within the country¿s international negotiations (Mercosul, Mercosul/European Union, ALADI(LAIA), FTAA, and WTO). Furthermore, CNI strives to exert a positive influence on the formulation of brazilian foreign trade policies in order to secure better conditions for fostering Brazilina industrial exports.
